FDA approval for Diclofenac - Voltaren, Cataflam

Diclofenac achieved its first approval in July 1998.The brand Cataflam achieved the approval from FDA on 24th August in the year 2006, while the brand Voltaren was lucky in this matter later on 6th march in the year. On the date 18th April 2008 it was declared by the Akorn INC that the advanced form of this drug has achieved an approval from Food and Drug Administration. Not only this, the drug Diclofenac Sodium Ophthalmic Solution of concentration 0.1% was also grated the approval by the FDA.This is mainly used to treat the cataract and also the refractive surgery patients.

The drug has been approved well in the United States (US) by the FDA. The drug is approved by the FDA after going through many researches, tests and reports of the clinical trails.

According to the other sales and as reported by the IMS sales department it was found that the annual sales of this drug were around $14 million in the year 2007.This itself proves the popularity of this drug and its effectiveness. With such figures one can estimate the manufacturing of this drug and also its bright future.
