Diclofenac belonging to the NSAID class of drugs is used to reduce
the pain, stiffness in the body and also inflammation. This all may
be due to arthiris, osteoarthiritis or due to cramps in the abdomen.

This drug is manufactured in the form of sodium or the potassium
salts.
The drug takes an effective role by reducing the hormones itself
that cause this pain, stiffness and inflammation. The drug works

concentration which is achieved in the synoviol fluids.
The perfect and the accurate mechanism of diclofenac drug are not
known. According to the researches and tests the primary mechanism
of this drug is due to inhabitation of prostaglandin synthesis which
in turn is due to the inhabitation of cyclooxygenase.This treatment
also decreases the prostaglandins in the epithelium which is a part
of the stomach.
Some tests also showed that this drug might be successful in
reducing the leukotriences as it is found to inhibitate lipoxygenase
pathways. It is also known to reduce the pro-inflammatory autacoids.
The present scenario and information about this drug also assures
that the drug may possess and inhibit phospholipase A2.All these are
the high potency of diclofenac which makes it one of the most
essential and effective drug of the NSAID family.
